CROSS COUNTRY

University of Iowa alum Racheal Marchand won the Puerto Rican National Title last month, completing the 5k race in 16:14 and setting the Puerto Rican 10k road record in 34:30. Since then Marchand has resigned her position as a pharmaceutical representative to train with Iowa head coach Layne Anderson in Iowa City with hopes of competing for Puerto Rico in the 2012 Olympics in London. Former University of Iowa wrestler Brent Metcalf has one more all-America honor to add to his collegiate collection after being named to the ESPN The Magazine at-large all-America first team this month.
